Shetland is an extraordinary source of water—naturally crisp, always cool, and pure. Rare Paleozoic Metamorphic Rock springs and windswept unsheltered lochs provide the highest-quality water in terms of purity and pH level. We’ll be sourcing from several secret springs, where there is no agriculture and simply nothing but nature and the elements. We affectionately call these our ‘Springs of Valhalla’.

We’ve created the Haad Still Fellowship for friends, connoisseurs, and collectors to join us on the journey and, more importantly, to participate in crafting our profoundly significant dram.

Martin Watt, a proud Shetlander and Whisky Connoisseur has been distilling the idea for well over a decade and decided it was finally the right time to make the first ever Single Malt Scotch Whisky from his homeland a reality.

We’ve reserved a rack of premium casks for the Haad Still Fellowship… Lerwick Distillery ‘origin’ casks, ultimately providing the first ever Shetland Single Malt Scotch Whisky.

We plan to mature for a minimum of 8 years. There will never be another first like this for Shetland, so many of these casks will doubtless continue maturation for decades.

Members of The Haad Still Fellowship will get to savour Shetland Single Malt Scotch Whisky as soon as it officially matures at 3 years old.

Our journey together begins with the first New Make Spirit and will progress over 8 years to the fully matured final product.
