Launching Lerwick Distillery is significant in itself but the thrill will truly happen with the filling of the first casks. And then follows the measured and hallowed onward journey to becoming Shetland’s first, and Scotland’s most northerly, Single Malt Scotch.

FROM INCEPTION
We’ve reserved a rack of premium casks for the Fellowship… Lerwick Distillery ‘origin’ casks, ultimately providing the first ever Shetland Single Malt Scotch Whisky.
Our plan is to mature for a minimum of 8 years. There will never be another first like this for Shetland, so many of these casks will doubtless continue maturation for decades. But members of The Haad Still Fellowship will get to savour Shetland Single Malt Scotch Whisky as soon as it officially matures at 3 years old. Our journey together begins with the first New Make Spirit and will progress over 8 years to the fully matured final product.

We’re eager to get your involvement, your participation in the development, so these precious samples that we deliver you will be for your consideration as much as your enjoyment.
The Haad Still Fellowship is essential to the evolution of the product. You’ll be sampling spirits exclusive to the Distillery… your opinion is valuable in the finessing of our liquid gold.
At milestone intervals, we’ll send cask samples and there will be tasting events in person and online. Our Master Distiller, Ian Millar, will be eager to receive feedback on the progression from New Make Spirit through to a Single Malt. He’s on a mission to make a profound statement with Shetland Single Malt Scotch, and the Whisky world is excited.

THE SCHEDULE
Year 1-3
Fellowship Packs will be dispatched soon after our distillery opens. Every 6 months you’ll receive a 20cl single cask sample of HAAD STILL New Make Spirit. From inception you’ll have the privilege of savoring the changing flavour profile as New Make Spirit evolves into Shetland’s first ever Single Malt Scotch Whisky.
Year 4-8
Every 6 months you’ll receive a 20cl single cask sample of the first Shetland Single Malt Scotch progressing from a 3 to 8 year old.
Year 8
The definitive year: You will receive a 50cl bottle of our much anticipated inaugural release… 8 Year Old Shetland Single Malt Scotch Whisky.
