Genesis could be considered the celebrity of the NØRN editions, an exceptionally refined, rich and smooth Single Malt Scotch with a minimum maturation of 12 years.
As our inaugural product and a Scotch to be savoured, this is a must-have for the connoisseur or collector.
It’s origination is from a particular refined distillation and maturation in Speyside that our Master Distiller, Ian Millar, had followed and consequently set his sights on acquiring. A marriage of American oak and the much sought after, smaller, Sherry Barrique. Over 12 years the distinctive Sherry Barrique provides a far more intense maturation from the cask. The added complexity comes from time in premium American Oak. Combined with crisp, pure Shetland Spring Water it’s remarkable.
Genesis is the most intense of our first Editions but fulfils our ethos of creating, smooth, elegant easy Whiskies. It’s exactly what we envisioned for notes, aromas and a taste inspired by the unique characteristics of our remote archipelago. It’s the spirit of Shetland.
