Blended Scotch Whisky | 58% Vol. | aged 8 years | 50cl
Non-chill filtered | Small Batch

Cask: Premium American & European Oak
LIMITED EDITION : 441 Bottles, numbered and initialled by hand

This is our first commemorative Up Helly Aa Whisky. Our Master Distiller has crafted an exquisite, and truly unique 8 year old blended Scotch Whisky. A sensational premium blend of casks sourced secretively from a Speyside accomplice.

Matured for a minimum of 8 years in American oak and blended to an indulgent 50/50 malt and grain, its been over-wintered in Shetland in flavourful Sherry casks creating a rich, warm, layered complexity.

At a bold 58% Alc. this blend is inspired by the wild Viking spirit of the festival.

Master Distiller's notes

'We’ve been extremely indulgent with this one off special release for Up Helly Aa, a blend from spectacular casks. We bottled it at ‘Viking Strength’, 58%, though a wee bit o' Shetland water opens up the flavours and aromas even further, revealing new layers of complexity and delight.'

Nose

A wave of sweet, creamy vanilla, followed by freshly grated cinnamon and nutmeg. An exotic hint of light coconut, brown sugar. A whisper of lemon zest in the background.

Palete

A big sweet hit front of mouth, dark fruity notes from the Sherry casks. Rich, rounded and palatable at 58%, whilst water will reveal more.

Finish

Long and warming, with the dark fruit notes and sherry influence lingering. A hint of spice returns, leaving a tingle on the tongue.
