The Whisky

Crafted by Master Distiller Ian Millar, our Up Helly Aa 2026 Edition is an exceptional blended Scotch whisky created in honour of Shetland’s untamed Viking heritage. Limited to just 2,000 bottles, this expression follows the rapid sell-out of the 2025 edition and is aimed squarely at collectors and discerning enthusiasts.

A meticulously balanced marriage of premium malt and grain Scotch whiskies, it's matured for a minimum of eight years in select American and European oak. The whisky is then overwintered in Shetland in rich Sherry casks, where it develops remarkable depth, richness, and character. Blended to a rare and indulgent 50/50 malt-to-grain ratio and bottled at Viking-strength 50% ABV, this small-batch release is non-chill filtered and uncompromising in its intensity - a fitting tribute to its smouldering inspiration.

Up Helly Aa Glencairn Tasting Glass Set

The gift box includes two special 70ml tasting glasses, scaled-down versions of the iconic Classic Glencairn and engraved to commemorate Shetland’s Festival of Fire. Crafted in the world-renowned Glencairn shape, they deliver the same exceptional aromatic and flavour-enhancing qualities in miniature.

A tapered neck concentrates delicate aromas, while the crystal bowl beautifully showcases the whisky’s colour and texture. Designed for tastings, flights, and moments worth savouring, these glasses are both functional and collectible - distinctive keepsakes that share a piece of the celebration.

Leather & Pewter Hip Flask

Handcrafted from premium, lead-free pewter and bound in high-end, full-grain vegetable-tanned cowhide leather, our 6oz (170ml) hip flask embodies timeless craftsmanship. Finished with an embossed Lerwick Distillery mark, it is a refined and enduring companion- an elegant and practical souvenir from the home of Shetland Single Malt Scotch Whisky.

Leather Coasters

Completing the set are two bespoke leather coasters, handcrafted exclusively for Lerwick Distillery. Authentic, tactile, and purposefully made, each coaster is 100% handmade using high-quality, full-grain cowhide leather, a by-product of the food industry. Natural vegetable tans are used for colouring, ensuring every piece develops a rich patina over time.
