Blended Malt Scotch Whisky | 55% Vol. | aged 14 years | 50cl
Non-chill filtered | Natural Colour | Small Batch

LIMITED EDITION: 441 Bottles, numbered and initialled by hand

Smoorikin is no ordinary whisky, but yet another of our Master Distiller, Ian Millar's exceptional curations; a very limited edition with an intriguing heritage.

Smoorikin originates from a mysterious Blended Malt Scotch called ‘BURNSIDE’, curiously known as a ‘teaspooned’ malt. Just a touch of a single malt from one distillery cask is mixed with that from the neighbouring distillery. Consequently it's no longer 'officially' a Single Malt but now a Blended Malt! Further to this cryptic enterprise, neither distillery alludes to it being theirs and instead they cheekily call it Burnside.

But the real secret is that these are two of the most exalted Speyside distilleries, both world-famous for their superior Single Malts (you'll know them well!), and so this particular 14 year old cask is quite extraordinary, and a much sought after rarity.

Our Master Distiller, Ian Millar, a veteran of such esteemed Distilleries curated a particular cask that resonated with the whisky we’ll soon be crafting and distilling in Lerwick Distillery. It’s pure indulgence, a remarkable, fruity and enigmatic dram.

Master Distiller's notes

'Liquid gold from the heart of Speyside, weaving soft vanilla sweetness with spicey notes. It caresses the palate with a warmth of poached fruits and slows to a smooth, mellow finish. An absolute delight of a dram.'

Nose

The first impression is that of a soft vanilla sweetness woven delicately with spicey notes

Palate

The palate is rich with fruity sweetness, blending perfectly ripe fruit, warm golden syrup, and the brightness of sun-kissed apricots.

Finish

As the dram slows, warming spice emerges - nutmeg, the subtle tang of kiwi skin, and a mellow sweetness of brown sugar.
