Lerwick Distillery Takes Shetland Whisky to Ho Chi Minh City

Lerwick Distillery continues to expand its international presence following a successful whisky tasting event hosted in collaboration with the Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam in Ho Chi Minh City.

The event, part of the Chamber’s “Canadian Connections Eh!” series, brought together a strong network of business leaders, diplomats, and professionals to celebrate Canadian culture and foster cross-border relationships. Held at Zumwhere Nguyen Trai, the evening featured a curated whisky tasting led by Lerwick Distillery’s Canadian-born brand ambassador, Elizabeth Atia, highlighting a unique connection between Canada and Shetland.

The event was exceptionally well attended, with guests engaging in whisky tastings paired alongside Canadian inspired offerings, including maple syrup experiences and artisan macarons. The evening also featured networking opportunities, interactive activities, and prize draws, contributing to a vibrant and memorable atmosphere.

Importantly, the event facilitated valuable new connections for Lerwick Distillery, including discussions surrounding a future distribution partnership in Vietnam, marking a significant step in the distillery’s international growth strategy.
